Dunphe - Old Colony Historical Society - 2pm
MUSICAL MARCH AT THE OLD COLONY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Louis Armstrong: An American Icon Audio presentation by
Norman Dunphe
Free and open to the public; refreshments to follow
The Old Colony Historial Society at 66 Church Green in Taunton
will take a journey to the not-so distant past through the music
of one of our country's greatest jazz musicians, Louis
Armstrong. Radio and music expert Norman Dunphe will be
our tour guide to the life of Satchmo, his visits to Taunton,
and best of all, his music. A cornet and trumpet virtuoso,
Armstrong was also revered fro his recognizable style of scat
singing. Learn more about this cultural icon or relive the
great times at Roseland Ballroom through Mr. Dunphe's program. The
mission of the OCHS is to collect, care for and interpret the
history of the Taunton region, collaborating with the community
to share meaningful connections between the past, the present
and the future. To that end, we have a museum and library
that are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00,
except for closings on holidays and Saturdays before Monday
holidays. Admission for non-members during normal hours of
operation is $7 for genealogy, $4 for adults, $2 for seniors and
children 12-17, free for OCHS members and accompanied children

The One Shot
Tour featuring Bobby Bishop and The Wrecking -
Bridgewater-Raynham HS Auditorium - 6pm
Community Covenant Church of East Bridgewater partnering with Fuse Christian Concerts will host "The One Shot Tour".
The One Shot Tour is a unique multimedia evangelistic event that incorporates two nationally know Christian music
groups, The Wrecking and
Bobby
Bishop, a short film and a speaker into one non-stop outreach event.
|
"One Shot is a powerful outreach event for any community. Bobby Bishop and
the Wrecking bring a tremendous amount of talent and energy to the stage
which allows their hip hop and eclectic rock to reach most audiences. The
One Shot Film coupled with Bobby's, The Wrecking's and a key note speaker's
message bring the truth of Christ to a generation that so desperately needs
to hear it," says Kylie Triola of Main Street Baptist Church in
Oneota, NY.
Another spectator describes the event as "MTV with Christ at the center".
"We are so excited to have the opportunity to bring this event to our
area", says Fuse Christian Concerts founder, Brian Sawyer. "We believe that
it can change lives and bring the message of Christ to a generation who
would not hear it sitting in a church pew. We've rented out Bridgewater-Raynham's new 850 seat auditorium
in order to reach as many teens in our area as possible."
For more information visit the Fuse Christian Concerts website or
call 508-967-0521. The suggested donation for tickets is $15 each and can be
ordered by mail by downloading the order form from the website or can be
purchased at one of the ticket locations listed on the website. There are
sponsorship and fundraising programs available for church's. |
